'Fallout' Fan Film 'Fallout: Lanius' To Debut At PAX Australia

The big Bethesda announcement came and went, and despite my own hopes and predictions, we're not getting a new Fallout game after all. But Fallout fever is high, and there's still projects to satiate your thirst for more wasteland mayhem, long after you've left the New Vegas strip in the dust of the Mojave.

You may have heard about the Fallout fan film "Fallout: Lanius" that was trying to get funding through crowdsourcing over the winter. Well, the team behind it hit their goal of $10,000 (and then some), and is set to debut the movie at PAX Australia this summer.

Director Wade K. Savage commented on the news, saying, "I couldn't be more grateful for this opportunity" he said "PAX is the biggest gaming expo in the world. This is especially cool as this is the first time PAX has happened in Australia - and we get to be apart of it. I cannot wait for the fans to see our film."

The film raised nearly $20,000 online in late 2012 and the team has been continually teasing more info via their Official Facebook page.

The movie promises to deliver a proper origin story to Fallout: New Vegas's Legate Lanius, the mountain of a man who commanded the military of Caesar's Legion, and the game's de facto boss. The team even managed to get Lanius's original voice actor, Mitch Lewis, to reprise his role as the fearsome enforcer, adding a nice touch of authenticity that's sure to please fans.

The screening will take place on July 20th at the Dropbear Theatre at 9pm. Director Wade K. Savage and Producer Stuart Mackenzie will then hold a Q&A about the film. The film is expected to be released online some time after the Premiere. Check out the promo trailer below to get a taste of what the movie has to offer.
