'Zotac' News and Updates: New VR Go Backpack PC Gamers on the Road

Zotac has gained a good reputation for creating small form factor PCs and video cards but this time, it has launched something different from its known categories. The VR Go backpack is a PC that gamers can carry anywhere they go.

According to Slash Gear, Zotac launched its VR system and they call it the VR Go backpack PC which is at its core a small form factor gaming PC but can fit into a harness that can be carried on the player's back. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, a quad-core CPU, I/O capabilities and a battery that is hot swappable are inside the small chassis.

When not gaming on the go, the VR Go can be used as a normal PC. Its SFF systems is cooling all the time especially when desktop grade graphics cards are inside. The other side of the VR Go houses the ports that are needed to connect the VR headset with connectivity options including an HDMI output, dual USB 3.0 ports and a power connector on top.

The detachable battery pack lets the machine to function away from an outlet although it isn't clear just yet how large or small the battery pack is or how long it lasts.

Connectivity options include three more USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader, two more HDMI outputs, two DisplayPort outputs, dual Gigabit Ethernet and a pair of 3.5mm headphone inputs.

The hardware includes an Intel Core i7 processor, dual DDR4 SODIMMS, an M.2 SSD, WiFi and the GTX 170 graphics card. A bay for a single 2.5-inch HDD or SSD is also available.

The cost is unannounced yet and the exact date of availability only states that it will be in the 4th quarter of this year.

Based in Macau, the company specializes in producing video cards, Mini PCs, Solid State Drives, Motherboards and other computer accessories. All its products are manufactured in the PC Partner factories in Dongguan City, China and it has three offices overseas in Germany, Korea and the US.
