The Huawei Mate 9 may soon occupy the market spot left by the failed Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with its features and unique technological enhancements. The smartphone's dual cameras and display screen can also challenge another mobile phone competitor, the iPhone.

Anticipation is high for Huawei's new Mate 9 smartphone product line. Recently unveiled by the said Chinese company, the new phablet comes with a 5.9-inch display screen and a body with a metal finish.

Similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it also boasts of a high-definition display screen. However, the Huawei Mate 9's resolution is lower than its Samsung rival with a 1,920 x 1,080-pixel display as compared to the latter's 2,560 x 1,440-pixel screen, according to Digital Trends. Despite the different in resolution, the new Mate 9's screen offers crisp images and a great viewing experience.

One of the upcoming Huawei phone's impressive features is its Leica dual cameras with its unique mix of color and monochrome lens. With its 12-megapixel camera lens, Mate 9 users will be able to enjoy a hybrid 2x zoom feature similar to iPhone 7 smartphones.

Aside from the powerful lens, the Mate 9 also has an optical image stabilization option, as well as a bokeh effect. The said feature will allow users to blur out certain parts of an image.

The Chinese company also highlighted the Huawei Mate 9's multiple built-in microphones, as well as its fast and powerful processor which runs on an octa-core Kirin 960 chip, as indicated in the same report. The smartphone also has an impressive battery life, including a "Super Charge" battery charging system that can replenish 60 percent of the phone's power in just 30 minutes.

U.S. price details for Huawei's upcoming phone has yet to be revealed, however, it will be sold in the U.K. for €700 or around $774. Meanwhile, the Mate 9's Porsche design that features a curved display will retail in the U.K. for €1,395 ($1,545).

Moreover, Huawei has also made some technological adjustments to its Mate 9 phone to cater to the Western market.  A market expert and CCS Insight's Ben Wood shared in an interview with BBC that the Chinese firm has adapted a "softer, cleaner interface" as compared to previous Huawei phones. He added, "[Huawei] has really looked at the competitive landscape, recognized the things that do well on the iPhone and Samsung devices, and evolved its own product in that direction."
