‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Niantic Updates 10km Egg Tier; Rattata, Pidgey Removed From Egg Hatching Rotation

Niantic recently changed some of its "Pokemon Go" settings specifically its 10-kilometer egg tier and egg hatching rotation. Players will now find less common Pokemon monsters being hatched from the game's virtual eggs.

"Pokemon Go" had a massive fan base when it was first released in various countries across the globe. Many gamers had fun exploring different neighborhoods and new places to catch a Pokemon monster or hatch a Pokemon egg. The novelty soon wore off following instances of server crashes, the absence of a good tracking system and the lack of interesting gameplay features that frustrated many gamers.

Game developers also remained quiet over some of the technical issues that added to the players' disappointment with "Pokemon Go." However, Niantic and Game Freak recently introduced a few gaming enhancements that rekindled some of the players' interest in the mobile gaming app.

One of the changes included the removal of common monsters from the game's Pokemon egg hatching rotation. In a social media message posted the game's official Twitter account, Niantic mentioned that both Pidgey and Rattata will "no longer hatch from eggs."

Niantic also confirmed Eevee's downgrade from a 10-kilometer egg tier to a 5-kilometer level. Prior to the latest update, many players have had disappointing egg hatching experiences in "Pokemon Go." After completing the required 10-kilometer distance, several gamers only hatched the Normal type Pokemon Eevee instead of other monsters such as Dratini or Lapras.

Meanwhile, other players have also noticed the spawning of unique Pokemon creatures in various areas, according to Polygon. The said sightings happened shortly after Niantic unleased its first "Pokemon Go" event during the Halloween holiday.

In the said event, Niantic increased the candy rewards to pay homage to the traditional "Trick or Treat" festivities. The "Pokemon Go" Halloween event also introduced more scary and ghostly-type Pokemon creatures in the wild.

"Pokemon Go" was first released in July in select countries before it was deployed to other global markets. Learn about Niantic's new daily bonus program in the clip below:
