‘Grimm’ Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Renard Embraces Darker Side; Reggie Lee Teases Wu Romance

Avid fans of the NBC series "Grimm" are expecting to see an exciting storyline as the show closes its final chapter. With the series' impending end, beloved characters will be faced with a darker villain given Renard's rise to power while Reggie Lee's Wu may encounter a new romance.

"Grimm" Season 6 will feature a showdown between the new mayor Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz) and the series' protagonist Nick (David Giuntoli). The two characters will become enemies with Mayor Renard looking to launch an all-out battle against Nick and his friends.

Cast member Roiz shared his thoughts about the former police captain's turn to the dark side and whether there may be a chance for Nick's team to save Renard. In an earlier interview with Showbiz Junkies, the actor commented that he is looking forward to depicting an evil mayor who does not shy away from confrontations.

Viewers who were suspicious of the said character were correct in their assumptions that Renard may soon turn against Nick and his friends. Mayor Renard will serve as "Grimm" Season 6's major villain, according to Roiz.

The upcoming episodes of the NBC series will show the conflicts between the two characters. When asked whether there could be a chance for Renard to change, Roiz shared that his character will remain "very antagonistic" during Season 6.

Meanwhile, one of the "Grimm" characters who have been battling their inner demons is Sergeant Drew Wu. Portrayed by Lee, viewers witnessed how a lycanthropy virus changed the said character's life.

In "Grimm" Season 6, Sergeant Wu will have to deal with his inner monster and thoughts of whether he will eventually transform into an evil creature. Cast member Lee commented during an interview with Screen Spy that many people assumed that Wu will turn bad in Season 5 or get killed in Season 6.

However, the actor admitted that he has no idea whether the show's writers will decide to kill Sergeant Wu halfway through Season 6. He stated, "Well ... who knows? Who knows what happens now."

Apart from Wu's challenges, Lee also teased that his character may find romance in "Grimm" Season 6. It appears that the show's writers are looking at potentially introducing a storyline where Wu will find someone to love.

"Grimm" Season 6 is expected to premiere in January 2017 on NBC. Watch a snippet from the show's Season 5 finale below:
