‘Pacific Rim 2’ Release Date, News & Update: Draft Revolves Heavily Around Raleigh Becket But Charlie Hunnam Is Out? Check Out Why!

"Pacific Rim 2" starts its production in Australia and China this month, but news of its cast comes in trickles. Charlie Hunnam stars as Raleigh Becket in the first movie franchise, but the 36-year-old actor seems not to be included in the cast of the sequel.

Reports say that several characters from the original film will reprise their role in "Pacific Rim 2," but it seems that Charlie Hunnam is not one of them. The "Sons of Anarchy" actor said that the change in ownership of the studio has a lot to say about his casting. Hunnam had mentioned that he is busy with other projects, and the new Chinese company wants the production to roll as early as possible.

For the fans of the Critics' Choice Television Award nominee, it is possible that Charlie Hunnam will still appear in "Pacific Rim 2." However, he will no longer be the star of the show. Reports reveal that John Boyega of "Star Wars" will be the lead star in the upcoming movie.

Amidst the news of Charlie Hunnam not being included in the cast of "Pacific Rim 2," other actors have been confirmed to be in the roster. Japanese actor Mackenyu was the latest to join the sequel of Guillermo del Toro film. The actor was seen in "Chihayafuru," "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and "Peach Girl."

"Pacific Rim 2" cast also includes Cailee Spaeny, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian and Adria Arjona. "Daredevil" showrunner and director Steven S. DeKnight will direct the film, and joining del Toro as producers are Thomas Tull and Mary Parent.

Are you looking forward to watching the Universal Pictures' science fiction robot film? "Pacific Rim 2" will be released on 3D theaters on Feb 23, 2018. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for the latest news and update.
