Microsoft Windows 10 Upgrade Features & Latest News; Unified Update Platform Speeds Up Download & Reduces Download Size

Microsoft announced that upgrades will be available for Windows 10. However, the upgrade will make everything smaller.

Microsoft Windows 10 Upgrade; Unified Update Platform Reduces Update By 35%

According to Forbes, Windows program manager Bill Karagounis said that Windows 10 upgrade will be smarter by how it downloads. It will use its latest Insider builds Unified Update Platform (UUP). PC World reports that UUP covers behind-the-scenes changes in Windows 10. This will reduce the processing power for updating, and download size of update files on PCs by using differential download technology. This means that rather than downloading the full build, UUP will only download the changes that your Windows 10 device requires. This will reduce Windows 10 updates by approximately 35%.

Microsoft Windows 10 Upgrade Available For All Windows PC, Mobile Phones & Tablets

Unified Update Platform will be used in all versions of Windows 10, including windows smartphones and tablets. This will help all users save valuable bandwidth and time when downloading and installing new patches.

The Windows 10 Unified Update Platform will also streamline updates in mobile phones. This will help users check for updates more efficiently. Data sent to clients and the amount of time required for processing are also reduced. With Unified Update Platform, the updates will be returned to the device ready for download and installation. There is logic in the client that automatically falls back and allows the phone to update in one-hop.

Microsoft Windows 10 Will Be Released In March 2016

Microsoft Windows 10 upgrade has already been launched to Mobile public beta build on Thursday. It is expected to be launched in March. More details and updates for Unified Update Platform will be revealed this week. UUP will roll out in stages from mobile devices first, then PC Insider builds, IoT and HoloLens.
