GameStop Expo 2013 will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Game enthusiasts can fetch early-bird tickets now at $35 which will go up to $45 after August 11. A limited number of VIP tickets are also on sale now for $90 ($100 after August 11). Meanwhile, GameStop executive vice president Michael Hogan said that the PS4 is set for a global launch in 2013. "We know that Sony will introduce the PlayStation 4 globally in 2013, but we are still waiting to see what Microsoft's final plans are," Hogan said during a fourth quarter earnings call last week.
"Purchase interest for the new PlayStation 4 is very strong. In fact, across a wide range of products, including new smartphones, new tablets, laptops, et cetera, the PlayStation 4 is by far the top scoring item," Hogan was quoted as saying in a NBC News report.
