Will fans finally get to explore Negan's world, The Sanctuary, through 'Daryl's eyes' in The Walking Dead Season 7? It's tough to say when someone as dangerous and unpredictable as Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is around, someone who does not seem to go by anyone's rules but his own.

At season's premier of The Walking Dead Season 7, Negan had Rick and his crew lined up on their knees, ready to kill any of them. Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) as the first one to die with Negan's barbed-wire wrapped bat, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) went uncontrollably angry. He advanced and threw a punch on Negan's face. Unfortunately, Glenn (Steven Yeun) paid the price by getting killed for Daryl's outburst.

Daryl's act also got himself held captive by the Savior and their leader, Negan. "He's got guts, not a little b***ch like someone I know," Negan said this to Rick about Daryl. He continued: "I like him. He's mine now." He then warns that if anyone has the idea of going against him, he will either cut Daryl up to pieces or he'll bring Daryl to Rick and have him do it by himself.

It was stated on a report in Forbes that Carl (Chandler Riggs) sneaked abroad Negan's truck and killed a bunch of the Saviors with Abraham's machine gun. Rather than killing him, Negan became fond of Carl.  Negan showed Carl the Sanctuary and forced him to remove the bandage from his eyes to torment one of his many wives.

Could Daryl's presence at Negan's side indicate something? Something that could mirror what exactly happened in the premier of The Walking Dead Season 7, the strange pairing of the super villain Negan and Carl Grimes?

When the showrunner, Scott Gimple was asked if Daryl's arc is going to replace Carl's, here is what he told ComicBook.com: "Whether it's with Carl or not, I cannot say. I absolutely want to explore Negan having that strange respect for someone which I think was the hallmark of that relationship and we'll tell versions of that story."
