Last weekend's BlizzCon brought about fresh updates for Blizzard's slew of offerings and finally cleared up rumors about the "Diablo 1" remake. Unfortunately for fans, Blizzard isn't looking to create a standalone game for "Diablo 1" remake, and instead is including it in a PTR coming this week in "Diablo 3."

The latest news surrounding "Diablo 3" and the "Diablo 1" remake is that while the studio isn't looking to create a standalone game for the original "Diablo," it will be a treat for fans of "Diablo 3." In an interview with PC Gamer, Blizzard's production designer John Lagrave revealed that a PTR is coming this week for "Diablo 3."

Lagrave also explained why Blizzard isn't looking to create a standalone game for the "Diablo 1" remake. He explained that "Our idea was to engage the public in the nostalgia of what we created. We wanted everybody to have that feeling of what we felt when we were playing 'Diablo' originally, what we enjoyed in making 'Diablo.'"

Meanwhile, "Diablo 3" fans would be glad to know that there is a free PTR coming this week, as per Lagrave. Fans will get to enjoy playing "Diablo 1" within "Diablo 3," and get nostalgic about the 20-year old game's very retro look and feel.

In other "Diablo" news, Kotaku reports that the studio will be adding what they call "The Armory" to the game, in which gamers can store up to five character load-out. Season contests are also now available for those playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a feature previously only enjoyed by PC gamers. Aside from the free PTR coming this week, "Diablo 1" remake fans should look forward to more additions to "Diablo 3."

Blizzard also promises to include new zones, such as the "Temple of the Firstborn," where evil lurks. Fans will have to wait to check out the new additions to the game. "Diablo 1" remake fans should check out these new additions with the free PTR coming this week. Check back for more on the latest in Blizzard's "Diablo."
