Batgirl Soars Into Action In Injustice Reveal Video [TRAILER]

Injustice: Gods Among Us developer Nether Realm Studios announces that Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, will be the next DLC character for the popular DC Comics fighting game on May 3 via the game's official Facebook page. The studio wasted no time showing off how Batgirl will look and feel once she hits the marketplace, as her official reveal trailer just hit the web today.

The video starts off with a brief character history of Batgirl that draws from the well-known DC Comics storyline "The Killing Joke." Batgirl's volatile connection to the Joker is revealed in the clip, which then cuts to an in-game battle between the two characters. The Joker is seen donning a Hawaiian shirt and shorts from the upcoming "Killing Joke" costume pack, while Batgirl wears the same costume found in her reveal image. Fans of the Bat-characters in "Injustice" will find plenty to like with Batgirl, as she boasts the unique gadgetry of Batman while possessing the speed of Nightwing. The video displays some powerful up-close combos with the character, as well as her ability to swing around the arena to disorientate her opponent.

According to the trailer, which is currently on TRMK, Batgirl will be available for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $4.99 on the Playstation Network. Those who purchased the "Injustice Season Pass" will automatically receive the character. No official release date has been announced yet, but fans can likely expect Batgirl to swing to consoles within the next few weeks.

With both Lobo and Batgirl out in the open, there are still two DLC characters for Injustice that have yet to be revealed, according to Comic Book Resources.  Nether Realm Studios previously released a "Season Pass" for 2011's Mortal Kombat, which consisted of 3 classic characters from the series and a guest appearance from Freddy Krueger. With rumors running wild regarding characters all over the DC Universe and beyond, fans will simply have to wait and see what the Mortal Kombat developers have up their sleeves.
