Dota 2 Interactive Compendium On Sale: What You Need To Know

The world of eSports grows more and more professional by the minute, and the recently-revealed compendium for popular MOBA game Dota 2 is further proof of the movement.

For $10, dedicated players can obtain the Dota 2 interactive compendium, a virtual book that boasts several perks for fans of the popular multiplayer game. The compendium will act as a companion to Valve's "The International" Dota 2 tournament, delivering news from the competition and allowing competitors vote on important matters regarding the game.

According to the Dota store, players who purchase the compendium will receive access to a free Smeevil courier and a special stretch goal reward for the tournament. Players will also be able to make predictions on the big tournament and see how accurate they were when the event wraps up on August 7.

Dota 2 is the official sequel to Defense of the Ancients, which is a mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. A multiplayer online battle arena, or MOBA, the game has teams of indivual players fight to take down one another's bases.

Interested in nabbing the compendium in time for "The International"? You can do so at the official Dota 2 shop. Dota 2 has a large competitive player base, and those who purchase the compendium should find plenty to love for their $10. Can you see other like-minded developers like Blizzard and Riot providing something like this in the future?
