'CyberPunk 2077' Release Date, Latest News & Update: Wait Is Almost Over? CD Projekt Red Will Be Acquired By Another Company?
The "CyberPunk 2077" is an upcoming tabletop RPG made by Mike Pondsmith under the CD Projekt Red. The company is the industry leader in creating role playing games and is known for its three "Witcher" games.
Currently, there are speculations that there is a possibility that the Polish video game company will be acquired by a larger corporation such as Electronic Arts.
According to The Bitbag, the company scheduled a shareholders meeting on Nov. 29 to discuss crucial matters related to the game. It is expected that shareholders will talk about the future of CD Projekt Red and whether or not they will acquire the portion of their shares back. It is also said that they will talk about whether or not the company will be merged with the holding company.
These speculations mean that there is a possibility that the company may be purchased and acquired by larger companies like Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Blizzard-Activision, or others.
The WCCFTECH stated in its report that it caused a lot of speculations to fans most especially that the company has been successful in recent years. The "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" which the company has developed became one of the best RPGs last year. In fact, it has sold more than 10 million copies all throughout the world.
The company furthermore developed games set as well as the most recent "Gwent" card game. It is expected that the "CyberPunk 2077" will be their first game to be developed outside the franchise. And what is more exciting is the speculation that it will allow players to finish various missions using different methods.
However there are conclusions which say that the merge of the CD Projekt Red with larger companies will delay the release of "CyberPunk 2077" which was primarily set in 2016.
Due to unknown reasons, the game was not released and is speculated to be launched in year 2018 or even later in 2021. As of now, developers are silent with regard to the issue.
