'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' Release Date, News & Update: Ubisoft Giving Away For Free; Available For Windows PC Only?

"Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" will be given away by the Ubisoft available for free earlier this month. The "Far Cry" spinoff is a way for the developers to give their gratitude to their fans. In celebration for thier 30th celebration in the gaming industry, the players can purchase the game from the Ubisoft Club website using a Uplay account.

It will be released on Wednesday, November 9, but it is only available for Windows PC for "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon". According to Polygon, the "neon-soaked" game was first available for PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360 in 2013.

"Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" has the 80's action film atmosphere with a lot of vibrant neon light and overwhelming guns and dinosaurs with laser eyes that highly imitates the extreme and fun sci-fi movies references in the 1980's. PC Gamer reported that "Far Cry" was one of the first open worlds Ubisoft has created. Before "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon", it was first presented to the public at the E3 2001 as X-Isle.

"The co-developed game by Ubisoft and Crytek changed name and adapted its context to become Far Cry in March 2004," Ubisoft said while they explained Far Cry's essence at the Ubi Pantheon. "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" is the stand alone expansion pack of the game.

Many players thought that it was a "throwaway gag" when they first played the game. "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" players have also thought of it as an April Fool's joke.

Aside from "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon", the developers has a ready gave out free digital PC games like "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", "Splinter Cell", "Rayman Origins", and "The Crew". Part of their 30th year celebration included the recent "Beyond Good and Evil" which is also available for free on November 12.
