NFL 2016 Latest News & Updates: Tony Romo Ready To Take On The Hard Hits On & Off The Field

The time of reckoning for the Dallas Cowboys seems to be here with quarterback Tony Romo sounding off that he is ready to return to active duty. Romo has been sitting out since the pre-season following a fracture but feels he is ready to take on the hits once more.

For Dallas, that should be good news with more help on the way. But the more pressing question right is what awaits Tony Romo. Despite being assured by team owner Jerry Jones that Romo will reclaim his starting quarterback slot once healthy, many feel that the Cowboys should not make changes.

Dak Prescott has been a sensation so far and is mainly responsible for the surprising 7-1 win-loss record, as mentioned in a previous postThe Cowboys are in no hurry to bring back Romo and the reason is obvious. It may no longer be about him being healthy but ruining chemistry which Dallas has right now.

Prescott is not appalled by the fact that Romo may return and get his slot back. Sliding down to the backup role is not a big loss for the rookie but may be a big risk for the Cowboys. Experience is what the 36-year-old veteran has over Prescott but the health factor is obviously in question.

Some people who have seen Romo at practices claim that is good to go, signaling better days ahead for the Cowboys, the Dallas Morning News reported. But the best people to know his actual status will be jones and Garrett. The last thing that they want to see is a relapse of Romo’s back injury which could at some point hurt the team as a whole.

The best Romo can do right now is try to prepare for a call to duty. He has been practicing with the team but as far as his first official game of the season with the Dallas Cowboys is concerned, such remains in the air.
