Fans are now expecting a much stronger season 3 storyline for the historically inspired TV series, "Marco Polo".  Although season 2 ended with a great drama and entertainment, there are reports that Benedict Wong  will not be recurring his role in the next season.

 "Marco Polo" written and created by John Fusco has gathered many viewers in following the life of Marco Polo, a Venetian explorer who found his way into the court of Kublai Khan.

It has been reported by Vine Report , that "Marco Polo" Season 3 might not get renewed because the show is very expensive. Another reason for its cancellation is the unavailability of Benedict Wong to play the role of Khublai Khan.

Benedict Wong was believed to have taken several roles in MCU. But John Fusco teased confirmation on social media particularly on Twitter of "Marco Polo" Season 3.

Insiders also noted that Benedict Wong is said to stop filming the series as he demanded a higher pay for his role. There are rumors that Benedict Wong is to exit in the next season due to his hectic schedule in Doctor Strange, Counsel Heal reports. However, Wong has to comment on this report yet.

Following the finale of "Marco Polo" Season 2,  John Prester was intial introduced to Khublai Khan and Marco Polo. Insiders also reported that Benedict Wong's role is very crucial in the upcoming season, since he and Marco Polo will be facing John Prester as the new villain of the series.

It 's also known that the production of series is likely to take one complete year hence even if it gets announced next year it will probably come out by 2018.

Will Benedict Wong still be playing Khublai Khan's role? Will "Marco Polo" Season 3 be released by Winter 2017 as other sources said or will it be by 2018?
