'God of War' Release Date, News & Update: Kratos Will Wield Thor's Hammer Mjolnir? 100 Boss Fights, Story Info & More!

So far, fans and gamers have been waiting for any official release date for "God of War", but both Sony and Santa Monica Studios have been completely silent to reveal any details. However, game director Corey Balrog has been responsive with "God of War" fans online and in a recent interview, revealed shocking information about the hack-n-slash game.

Information Revealed By 'God of War' Game Director

Corey Balrog revealed in an interview that the main storyline for "God of War" is a fresh start for both the franchise and the protagonist, Kratos. Balrog added that in "God of War", Kratos is looking for a second chance and is trying to escape the character's haunted past.

"God of War" game director also stated that for the first time in the game title, Kratos is not going to change the past like the game's predecessor. Kratos will be a more mature character in "God of War" and will continue to move forward in seeking redemption.

Meanwhile, "God of War" features another character in the mist and is told by the trailers that it is in fact Kratos' son. Rumors suggest that the boy's mother, which has been kept secret from the game developers, will appear in "God of War" and will help Kratos' son along the journey.

On other news, reports suggest that Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir, will serve as an ultimate weapon for Kratos in the upcoming "God of War." Corey Balrog stated that Mjolnir being featured in "God of War" is only fitting to be wielded by the Ghost of Sparta when in fact, "God of War" is set in the Norse Mythology.

Pre-orders for "God of War" has recently been released by Amazon with a $59.99 price tag and a placeholder release date of December 29, 2017. For more "God of War" news and update stay tuned to Gamenguide!
