Microsoft Surface Book i7 Review: Impressive Specs & Features Beat MacBook Pro 2016 & Surface Book 2? Cheaper Price, Better Screen, Processor?

When the Microsoft Surface Book i7 was released, tech experts frowned upon its not-so-updated hardware specs. However, as it turns out, the Microsoft Surface Book i7 is a beast of a laptop and is winning hearts everywhere.

Those who have already used the device would agree that Microsoft has put in a lot of effort to better the graphics performance than the original Surface Book. The Microsoft Surface Book i7 has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M chip with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM. The GPU has passed the torture test with flying colors.

The GPU does get hot under extreme pressure. However, Microsoft has taken care of it by keeping a second fan and large air vents to keep the temperature off the danger limit. Even after hours of torture, the Microsoft Surface Book i7 refused to fail the test.

Experts may not be happy with the dual-core 6th-gen Skylake Core i7-6600U chipset inside the Microsoft Surface Book i7 device as many others are already using the 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors, but the device is sure to impress the buyers.

Another remarkable feature of the Microsoft Surface Book i7 device is the battery performance. It has a mammoth battery capacity that refuses to die down. As per Engadget, the battery can provide 12-16 hours of non-stop performance depending upon the configuration. Graphics-wise, the Microsoft Surface Book i7 delivers twice the performance than the original Microsoft Surface Book.

PC World notes that the convertible, hybrid laptop is a 13.5-inch tablet, Microsoft Surface Book i7, beautifully crafted with a PixelSense screen that supports both pen and touch. The "Dynamic Fulcrum Hinge" is also present despite rumors that Microsoft would drop it. The PixelSense screen has a resolution of 3200 X 2400 pixels.

The Microsoft Surface Book i7 tablet comes at a price. The 256GB/8GB variant, one needs to shell out $2,399 and for the 1TB/16GB variant, the price is $3,299.
