'Diablo 4' Latest News & Update: Blizzard Already Working on 'Diablo' Sequel? Possible Features Revealed, Gameplay Details; New Characters, Weapons, Armor Coming?

Fans of "Diablo 4" have long been anticipating the release of the next action RPG installment. They were thoroughly disappointed though when Blizzard did not mention anything about the sequel in their event. However, there may have been clues about the game details.

Dice Hint?

The rumors for "Diablo 4" have started after one of the "Diablo" dice contained a misprint. It was originally intended for the 2016 Blizzcon, and one side of the dice contained "1/1/4." Fans took it as a hint for the release of "Diablo 4," as the event started on November 4. However, this never came true and the incident was clearly an unfortunate coincidence.

Multi-Platform Game

There is a high chance that "Diablo 4" will be released in multiple platforms. This includes the current flagships PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and the Windows PC. The upcoming Xbox Project Scorpio may also be supported. However, it is not likely that "Diablo 4" will be playable through less current models like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Job Openings for a "Diablo" Project

Several months ago, Blizzard had posted job openings for an undisclosed "Diablo" project that included the position for a game director. This then led to the speculation that either a "Diablo 4" project or a "Diablo 3" expansion is in the works. While fans sure hoped for the former, Blizzard then revealed the new playable Necromancer Class with male and female variations during the 2016 Blizzcon event.

However, many fans have considered the fact that Blizzard may have hired too many people to work on just the Necromancer Class for "Diablo 3." While they could just as well be replacing positions left by former employees, they could also be hired to work on the new "Diablo 4."

So far, these rumors have been the most persistent hints pointing to the direction Blizzard is going with the "Diablo" franchise. As a remaster and a remake of previous "Diablo" installments are out, there is plenty of room for new ones. This then leaves a gaping hole that "Diablo 4" needs to fill.
