Sony PS4 Pro Latest News & Update: PS4 Titles That Are & Aren't Getting An Upgrade Patch For PS4 Pro

Sony released its new console with an upgraded hardware along with an astonishing 4K resolution. The PS4 Pro can enable its titles to take advantage of a lot of its new features. Games can now actually run on smoother framerates, utilize some of the systems extra graphical effects and enjoy a sharper display with the upgraded resolution.

Recently released titles already support the PS4 Pro's new features and older games might have to rely on updates to fully experience Sony's upgraded console. However, exclusive information was divulged to Gamespot by Sony's lead architect Mark Cerny during Sony's livestreamed event in New York. According to Cerny, some games might not yet be able to take advantage of the PS4's upgraded hardware.

Sony PS4 Pro Update: Sony Reveals What Games Will Receive The Update

It is still not clear how these titles can take full advantage of the PS4 Pro, but the Lead Architect from Sony did say that most of the games will receive the new update and enjoy the console's new features. An article published in Polygon showed some of the games that will be featured by the PS4 Pro.

Here is the list of titles that will be receiving an update; the game update comes along with an improved 4k resolution, smoother fps, increased graphical fidelity and some gameplay tweaks to ensure full compatibility with the PS4 Pro. Some games that are not included in the list might receive the updates later this year.

Games that are confirmed to receive the updates are the following: "Battlezone," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered," "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," "The Elder Scrolls Online," "Fallout 4," "Nioh," "Horizon: Zero Dawn," and "Thumper." Other titles include "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," "The Last of Us Remastered," "NBA 2K17," "Gran Turismo Sport," "Paragon," "Viking Squad," "The Witness" and "Titanfall 2." Also on the list are "World of Tanks," "Hitman," "Rise of the Tomb Raider," "Killing Floor 2," "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor," "Ratchet & Clan" and "Rez Infinite."

Sony PS4 Pro Update: Unconfirmed Games That Might Not Receive The Updates

Here is the list of games that still have unconfirmed updates as of the moment. Some of these titles might get the update soon: "Battlefield 1," "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," "Days Gone," "Dishonored 2," "FIFA 17," "Skyrim: Special Editio," "Skyrim: Special Edition" and "Final Fantasy XV." Also on the list are "The Playroom VR," "Driveclub VR," "PlayStation VR," "Worlds Farpoint VR," "Rigs: Mechanized Combat League VR," and "Robinson: The Journey (PlayStation VR)." In the list, as well, are "For Honor," "Ghost Recon: Wildlands," "Infamous: First Light," "Mass Effect: Andromeda," "Pro Evolution Soccer 2017," "Rise of the Tomb Raider," "Spider-Man," "Steep," "Mafia III," "Bound," "Firewatch," "Helldivers," "Hustle Kings" and "Resident Evil 7."

Sony PS4 Pro Update: Confirmed Games That Will Not Receive The Update

Developers of these titles have confirmed that the games will not receive any update with regard to the PS4 Pro. However, things might change as developers might have to eventually offer updates to tweak some bugs: "Destiny," "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" and "Until Dawn."
