After the real Presidential elections in the United States, citizens will once again anticipate who will win the presidency of the country in the political drama "Scandal." Many are rooting for female candidate Mellie Grant but it is still unsure if she will snatch the win.

Trailer released

A 30-second trailer of "Scandal" Season 6 showed the presidential candidates each hoping to secure a win in the elections. Mellie Grant was seen talking to campaign and political crisis manager Olivia Pope.

It also showed viewers that the next installment of the TV series will be action-packed and that they will not know what hit them in the first ten minutes. Some video captures also included on the trailer were Olivia and Fitz sharing a sweet moment and Huck and Quinn witnessing an explosion.

Election night drama

The teaser for "Scandal" Season 6 also left viewers with a lot of questions in their minds like why Fitz looked so stressed and will someone important on the show die due to the explosion. The sixth season will begin on election night and highlight on the events that will happen after.

Air date and time slot

Set to premiere this January 19 on ABC, "Scandal" Season 6 promises to live up to the expectations of the fans. Season 5 ended with a cliffhanger as fans were held at the edge of their seats in anticipation of the election situation and results.

"Scandal" Season 6 will return with its powerful cast including Kerry Washington, Scott Foley, Bellamy Young, Portia de Rossi, Darby Stanchfield, Guillermo Diaz, Katie Lowes, Jeff Perry, Joshua Molina and Cornelius Smith Jr. It will air Thursdays on ABC along with hit TV shows "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Grey's Anatomy."
