The year 2016 had been a roller coaster ride for Samsung with the success of the Galaxy S7 and the fiasco over the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. With this, what does the company have to offer for its 2017 flagship devices like the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8?

From various leaks and reports, it looks like the Korean tech giant will be offering three new flagships models next year. One would be the expected Samsung Galaxy S8. There would also be the Galaxy Note 8 that would attempt to redeem the Note lineup. Lastly, the surprise addition Galaxy S8 Plus seems to be geared up for a major release next year.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

For so long, the Samsung Galaxy S lineup has been offering devices with 5.2-inches of screen size. However, this might not be the case anymore for the Samsung Galaxy S8. Reports say that the display size will be hugely upgraded to 5.5 or even 5.7 inches. These screen sizes would then directly draw comparisons with the company's Note lineup.

Samsung will then want to take things a step further by offering an even bigger display option. The 6.2-inch variant is then predicted to be the new Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Both devices would be powered by either a Snapdragon 821 or 830 and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus would sport the familiar Edge display panels, touting by the company's trademark Super AMOLED technology.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The anticipated successor of the infamous and now discontinued Galaxy Note 7 would attempt to redeem the controversial phone. There have even been reports stating that Samsung has mulled over cancelling the Note lineup entirely. However, contradicting reports reveal that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is well under way.

With the Note 7 bearing some of the best, if not the best, technologies packed in a singular device, the Note 8 is expected to do the same, but without the explosions. The enhanced digital assistant from Samsung is expected to make a debut in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus Release Date

Samsung has had the tradition of launching its newest flagships at the Mobile World Congress. This means that the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus may be coming in February 2017. As for the Galaxy Note 8, it is still unclear whether it will be launched together with its siblings or not.
