Sonic: Lost World Headed Exclusively to Wii U And 3DS

While the majority of today's Nintendo Direct showcase fleshed out more details for upcoming games such as Pikmin 3 and Super Luigi U, there was one surprise that started off the broadcast.

We speculated about the game on Thursday, and now it's official: Sonic: Lost World will be headed exclusively to the Wii U and 3DS.

The upcoming Sonic title is part of a new partnership between Nintendo and Sega. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata announced that the partnership will also bring a slew of Sega Game Gear games to the Nintendo 3DS virtual console, with titles ranging from Phantasy Star II to Sonic Drift

Rounding off the Sega news from Nintendo Direct is the reveal of the next Mario & Sonic Olympic title, which will be based around the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Sega promised a big year for Sonic, and today's news seems to live up to it. Are you excited about this new partnership?
