‘Black Mirror’ Season 4: Jodie Foster To Direct Rosemarie DeWitt Episode; Early Release Possible?

Actress later turned director Jodie Foster is set to direct a season-four episode of Netflix's science-fiction anthology "Black Mirror," with Rosemarie DeWitt starring. The new season of the will begin production later this year and premiere in 2017.

Meanwhile, Game N' Guide previouslt reported that the show may possibly returned as Creator and writer Charlie Brooker might already be hard at work on "Black Mirror" Season 4 in time for an early fall release. However, there were rumors circulating on the web that the Netflix has decided to debut "Black Mirror" Season 4 on the first week of December as a perfect gift for its fans and viewers. The said network is yet to give their comments on these recent speculations.

According to Variety, Netflix ordered last year a 12 additional episodes of the series from executive producers and showrunners Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, splitting the order up into two six-episode seasons.

An anthology in the vein of "The Twilight Zone," telling dark stories steeped in technology, "Black Mirror" is written primarily by Brooker. The first two seasons premiered on the U.K.'s Channel 4 before later migrating to Netflix.

Moreover, Charlie-Brooker, the creator of the TV series reportedly said that that the new season has a lot of exciting things to offer, from its scenes up to its characters.

"I've always been a fan of one-off, quirky, weird stories you'd see on 'The Twilight Zone' or 'Tales of the Unexpected,'" Brooker recently told Variety. "Also, the BBC would put on one-off plays that were often controversial or incredibly depressing. I missed those shows where you would run to someone and say, 'This guy was the last man on earth, and he broke his glasses, and it was amazing!'"

Foster has also previously directed episodes of Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" and "House of Cards." Aside from being an Oscar-winning actress, she is also the director of films "Money Monster," "The Beaver," "Home for the Holidays" and "Little Man Tate." DeWitt will next be seen alongside Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the feature film "La La Land."
