Macbook Pro News and Updates: Touch Bar Supports Numerous Third Party Apps Including Password Manager 1Password

Touch Bar, the new relatively sensitive touchscreen panel embedded into the Apple's new MacBook Pros keyboard, has numerous apps that it supports as confirmed by Apple. The first set of customers who ordered the new Macbook Pro will soon get their hands on the unit which are also on sale at Apple stores this week.

There are more app developers who will be announcing updates soon apart from the ones that are already equipped to use the Touch Bar. According to 9TO5Mac, some make use of the shortcut buttons and sliders. Another is the password manager app 1Password, which can be used to tap into the Touch ID fingerprint sensor for authentication and other functions based on the task being performed.

9TO5Mac has listed the third party apps as well as Apple's apps that can be utilized. These apps can be used as early as December of this year: Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Affinity Designer, OmniGraffle, OmniPlan, OmniFocus and Blogo. OmniOutliner will be available early next year.

The third party apps that can now be used are Skype, Da Vinci Resolve, Parallels Desktop for Mac 12, Pixelmator, djay Pro, Day One, Coda, Gestimer, 1Password, Sketch, Memory Clean 2, Opus One, Disk Aid, Glimpses 2.2, Live Home 3D, Focus- Productivity Timer, PicFrame, Mail Designer Pro 3, QuickQuad, Live Desktop - Animated Live Wallpapers and Themes, Artistry Photo Pro: Studio FX & Effects Editor, PocketCAS Mathematics Toolkit and Debit & Credit - Personal Finance Manager.

Safari, iTunes, Terminal, Finder, System Preferences, TextEdit, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Preview, QuickTime, Calculator, Calendar, Contacts, FaceTime, iBooks, Reminders, Mail, Maps, Messages, Notes, Photos, GarageBand, Compressor and Motion are the Apple's apps that are compatible with the new Macbook Pro. Logic Pro X will be available early next year.

The MacBook Pro is a line of Macintosh portable computers introduced in January 2006 by Apple Inc. The fourth generation MacBook Pro was revealed on October 27, 2016. Phil Schiller described it as the "Thinnest and lightest MacBook Pro ever". The main advancement from the previous generation is the replacement of the function keys with an interactive multi-touch "Touch Bar" and a Touch ID sensor integrated into the Power button.
