Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered Has Hidden Weapons Including a Melee Shovel

It came out that "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered" has more than 10 hidden weapons alongside some weapons from other Call of Duty games. However, these are not playable through usual schemes.

Reddit user Semyel wrote that his friend discovered some hidden weapons such as a melee shovel, a bunch of shotguns, rifles and pistols. These include Modern Warfare 2's PP2000 machine pistol, .44 Magnum revolver and FAL assault rifle, Black Ops' Galil assault rifle, Striker semi-automatic shotgun and a new Kamchatka-12 auto shotgun.

He then tried it himself and found some other weapons except the shovel but when he tried changing the RPG weapon ID, the shovel suddenly showed up. "I pretty much forgot about the shovel until when I was getting the RPG addresses for my CodJumper Mod I tried changing the RPG weapon ID and the shovel came up," he wrote.

Although it's not yet clear why these weapons appear in the game, players have speculated that it could be in relation to the content that can be downloaded in the future or these have been put into operation but were cancelled. According to Polygon, Activision has removed videos of these weapons from YouTube.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a 2007 first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. A handheld game was made for the Nintendo DS.

A remastered version of Modern Warfare, entitled Modern Warfare Remastered developed by Raven Software was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC along with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on Nov. 4, 2016 and is only available with the purchase of either the Legacy, Digital Deluxe or Legacy Pro editions of the game with physical versions requiring the Infinite Warfare disc inserted to access the remaster.
