Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Headed to iPad? [LEAK]

Released in 2003, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most critically-acclaimed and fan-cherished role playing games of all time. Bioware's sci-fi adventure immersed players in a universe set thousands of years before the events of the original Star Wars films, and spawned a sequel while setting the groundwork for beloved Bioware titles like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

If a recent rumor is true and the Star Wars geek gods have their way, this wildly popular game will soon be coming to Apple's iPad.

According to IGN, Aspyr Media may have accidentally leaked information that KOTOR is on its way to iOS. The Mac publisher sent out an e-mail newsletter regarding its current Call of Duty promotion but strangely inlcuded the header text "The critically-acclaimed Star Wars RPG is coming to iPad." A few saavy fans were able to catch a screenshot of the mishap, which you can see below:

Aspyr bringing Knights of the old Republic to the iPad wouldn't be too much of a shocker, considering the company is repsonsible for bringing the game to standard Mac computers. While KOTOR is a real-time game, the point-and-click nature of the game would make a perfect fit for Apple's tablet, and would make it the perfect title for killing time on long flights and road trips.

Aspyr has previously brought triple-A titles such as Bioshock: Infinite, Borderlands 2, and Rage to Mac, with a few smaller titles available at iOS. Their website features the mantra "The Greatest Mac Publisher on Earth, Ever."

If they truly do bring Knights of the Old Republic to iPad, a legion of Star Wars fanboys could end up agreeing strongly with that sentiment.
