"Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was announced in the E3 event in June with Nintendo stating the upcoming game will be released along with the presumably Nintendo NX (now, Nintendo Switch) in 2017. However, news broke that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be delayed because of some minor fixes within the game; here are the details.
'Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' Delayed Release In 2017
According to sources, "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" localization has proven to be more work than the game developers had ever anticipated. The localization for "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" might take the game developers to finish in December and after that, "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" would require 4-6 months of test period before officially releasing the game next year.
In previous reports, many have claimed that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released alongside the Nintendo Switch in 2017.If the aforementioned statement will be proven true, then "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" would likely be released around mid-2017.
With that said, Nintendo needs to come up with a new game to highlight the Nintendo Switch's release in March 2017 since "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was set to be the first purchased game for the hybrid gaming console. If this continues until next year, the Nintendo Switch early 2017 release might have a negative effect on the Japanese company's sales, being unable to meet consumers' expectations.
