Mortal Kombat's Scorpion Coming To Injustice: Gods Among Us? [RUMOR]

Injustice: Gods Among Us players have enjoyed a constant stream of downloadable content for the top-selling DC Comics fighter, from throwback skin packs to all-new characters. And while season pass holders have been enjoying the likes of Lobo and Batgirl over the past few weeks, a rumor suggests that the next combatant to hit the fray would... well let's just say he prefers his combat with a "K."

According to Stick Skills, a reliable fact leaker, Scorpion of Mortal Kombat fame will soon be tussling with the gods among him. A few saavy hackers previously found code for Batgirl, Lobo, Zod, and Scorpion in the game's guts, and while these types of rumors are easy to dismiss, the first two characters in that list are currently being played as we speak.

While the community is split on bringing a Mortal Kombat character into an all-DC fighting game, there are plenty of reasons for developer NetherRealm Studios to throw good ol' Scorpy into the mix. Just like Ryu and Capcom, Scorpion is the poster boy of the studio that created the game, and NetherRealm has already shown their affinity for including guest characters by including Freddy Krueger in 2011's Mortal Kombat

The Injustice Facebook page makes frequent updates on which characters and content are coming to the game, so eager fighters should keep their eyes glued to their social media accounts. The four downloadable combatants for Mortal Kombat were released every other week over a two-month span, and Injustice seems to be following the same trend thus far. That would mean that Scorpion or whoever the next DLC character is could be on players' consoles as soon as next Tuesday.

Scorpion's appearance in Injustice wouldn't be the first time he traded blows with the likes of Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, as the two franchises collided for 2008's Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. However, Injustice is a decidedly DC-based game, so his appearance could appear as a bit of a sore thumb for comic purists. How would you feel if he really was coming to the game?
