HTC Vive Release Date, News & Updates: Vive Is Going Wireless With Superior VR Experience

Virtual Reality is becoming one of the most popular game features in some consoles. The technology itself is facing a huge boom after it became accessible to the general public through technology like the HTC Vive. Being able to experience virtual reality is already an amazing thing and HTC has made it more exciting by announcing that the HTC Vive goes wireless soon.

The wires of the Virtual reality headsets usually end up as a hazard when a person is playing. They either trip on them or the headset gets ripped off their faces. It was a common observation with HTC Vive. After much thought and listening, the HTC Vive is now venturing into the wireless world. The Taiwanese company announced that they will be partnering with TPCAST and will be developing a tetherless upgrade to their VR kit.

The kit was revealed during the Alibaba 11/11 shopping event, China's response to Black Friday. The HTC Vive upgrade kit was developed by TPCAST and was created under the program of Vive X Accelerator.

According to the China Regional President for Vive, they are always welcoming and will support teams who can create great accessories and peripherals that can help improve and add to the Vive Ecosystem. The upgrade was developed quite fast with high quality which users of the HTC Vive will definitely enjoy the experience of untethered mobility.

The HTC Vive upgrade kit will contain a wireless transmitter that will replace the usual wired link box of the HTC Vive. It will then link to a wireless receiver that will be attached to the HTC Vive headset. Power is always an issue with anything that is wireless that is why TPCAST and HTC Vive will be offering different rechargeable battery packs that will have different capacity in terms of game time. The battery pack will be the one to power the USB and HDMI signal that will be transmitted to the headset.

Fans of the HTC Vive are excited with all the latest development but, TPCAST and HTC Vive have not released more information especially with the launch date. The company will be shipping a limited supply of the wireless system by 2017 and pre-orders were handled by HTC China via their website.

The kits were offered in the HTC China website for approximately USD $220 or CNY 1,499. There are currently no announcements whether the HTC Vive will be offered in the US or UK markets. Fans will have to be more patient and watch out for more news about the HTC Vive wireless VR.
