"Deadpool 2" will be directed by David Leitch after Tim Miller exits. David Leitch, director of the movie "John Wick", has been selected as the person who would direct for the film "Deadpool 2".
David Leitch is surfaced as the top candidate to direct the movie after Tim Miller separated himself due to misunderstandings with "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds. Leitch was supposedly expected to return after developing the script for "Deadpool 2", according to Hollywood Reporter.
Ryan Reynolds, who plays the main character in "Deadpool", was announced to be back for the sequel together with Leitch, following Miller's exit. The first movie was a success being the highest grossing film with $782.6 million worldwide.
Not everything was bad news for the team for the previous movie for they are set to return for the sequel as well. As confirmed by Chief Stacey Snider of Fox, screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese could return to handle script duties for "Deadpool 2", according to a report in Variety.
David Leitch had his first directorial debut in the movie, "John Wick" together with Chad Stahelski. They worked together as stunt coordinators as well as second unit directors. David Leitch also directed the movie "The Coldest City" starred by Charlize Theron. Fox has also started working on the development of a third movie for "Deadpool" but still in the works to find a filmmaker. Fox wants to be discreet about it.
The production crew of "Deadpool 2" has yet to finalize the stars to be included in the movie, except for the lead character himself, Reynolds as Deadpool. There are number of actresses that are eyed for the female lead and likewise to appear in the future for "X-Force." Some of the names on the list are Lizzy Caplan, Stephanie Sigman, Sofia Boutella Eve Hewson.
The cab driver from the first Deadpool movie was not yet announced for his return, but maybe David Leitch will make some considerations. No exact date of when the movie "Deadpool 2" will be released.
