Fallout 4 may not be Xbox One exclusive: PS4 listing spotted

Fallout 4 from Bethesda Softworks has been in contention for a while, and although there have a been a host of rumors suggesting the existence of the title, nobody’s quite sure if the game will arrive as an Xbox One exclusive or whether it will also see a PS4 arrival.

According to a post from NeoGAF, there have been numerous instances over the past few months where Fallout 4 has been mentioned at least once. The post states: “I've seen a lot of this popping up in threads and stuff like it's a foregone conclusion, but for the life of me I can't figure out if we have solid, credible inside info on this game being an exclusive Xbone title like we do about other ones (such as an exclusive EA game to Xbone, or Dead Rising 3).”

The Cheapy D podcast, mentioned in the post, has already talked about third party exclusives for the Xbox One, citing Fallout 4 as a possible example. Giant Bomb founder Jeff Gerstmann, on the other hand, stated on Tumblr that he’s heard “some major exclusives being scored by Sony and MS, and mentioned in a theoretical scenario that we could have Fallout 4 exclusive to MS and other titles exclusive to Sony.”

Moreover, Patrick Klepek, another member of Giant Bomb, has restated in the Bombcast about Fallout 4 being exclusive to the Xbox One, alongside the evidence of the timed DLC that Bethesda might have planned for Microsoft’s newest console.

To add more fuel to the already growing fire related to Fallout 4 being available for both the new consoles, a Swedish online store, WebHallen , has posted a listing of upcoming PS4 games and a new Fallout has also been included to the list.

Other titles posted by the retailer shows the likes of Mass Effect 4, Deus Ex Human Revolution 2, Borderlands 3, Battlefield 4, Just Cause 3, Mirror’s Edge 2 and more.

However, getting back to Fallout 4, it would be a surprising decision from Bethesda if the company decides to make the title an Xbox One or PS4 exclusive, and this is entirely due to the fact that the Fallout series is not that big enough (to the likes of God of War or Halo series, just for the sake of comparison) and making it an exclusive could harm the company’s monetary ambitions.

More about Fallout 4 is expected to arrive at the upcoming E3 2013.
