E3 2013: What games Sony is bringing to the party

E3 is just over a week away, and there's a huge buzz over which key properties each company will be showing during the three day long event. Obviously Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all have big plans for the convention. However, it's only the third company named that's cluing in fans what they'll be bringing to the show.

The ESA'a official site for the convention, E3insider, recently updated the page for Sony with a list of over a dozen titles they'll be showing off. Given the size of E3, we can easily expect the company to show more games, as while as developers doing their own unveilings that will no doubt make their way onto the console. But for the time being, here's what Sony has listed:

  • Beyond: Two Souls
  • DriveClub
  • Everquest Next
  • Gran Turismo 6
  • Infamous: Second Son
  • Invizimals: The Alliance
  • Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom
  • Killzone: Mercenary
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • Puppeteer
  • Tearaway
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us
  • Until Dawn
  • Warrior's Lair
  • Wonderbook: Diggs Nightcrawler

The page has plenty of screenshots for each title, but it's unfortunately light on information for most of them. Some titles like the two Killzones, The Last of Us, and the new Infamous aren't big surprises, but The Last Guardian certainly is. The game's been in development now for years under Shadow of the Colossus developer ICO, with only scant details released about it in the same amount of time. Last we heard, Sony was waiting "for the right time" to finally re-introduce the game to the world, and it looks like E3 could finally be that time.

Expect the list to grow as the clock ticks down to E3.

With Nintendo's new console suffering, Sony's main competition will be coming from Microsoft. However, the company is still keeping mum on what they'll be bringing, as per usual. But they've indicated that they'll be focusing more on the library of games for the Xbox One, rather than how great the console can make watching television. In related news, Ubisoft also recently revealed what games they'll be bringing to E3.

Let's hope there's at least two or three brand new games to add to that list in a week's time.

What's interesting may not be so much the games Sony has on the list, but rather, what's not. Think Sony has any brand new games up their sleeve they'll be introducing at E3?
