"Pokemon Sun and Moon" now features QR Scanners, a new and unique way for players to collect data of a certain Pokemon to their Pokedex. The players can use the camera on their Nintendo 3DS to scan the QR Codes in the Pokedex that gives them information together with the exact location where the Pokemon can be obtained.

According to WWG, if a Nintendo 3DS players use the QR scanners, they can achieve some of its bonus features. When a player can scan about 10 QR codes into their games' system, they automatically unlock the "Island Scan" which uncovers a Pokemon that is not available in The "Pokemon Sun and Moon".

The "Island Scan" is the only possible method where  "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players can obtain a Pokemon that is unavailable in the Alola Pokedex. However, when players activate the "Island Scan" players are only given an hour to track down the new Pokemon.

The "Pokemon Sun and Moon" player has to execute the "Island Scan" after they have been in all areas on an island. The players are only limited "to one Island scan per day". The QR scan and codes do not include Legendary Pokemons, Gurdian Pokemons and Ultra Beasts.

In other "Pokemon Sun and Moon" tips, a Pikachu can easily be obtained in the tall grasses of Route 1 where you can find and catch a pre-evolution of Pikachu, Pichu. Players can evolve the Pichu by including the Pokemon in the party and giving it a Shoothe bell to increase happiness.
