Konami has announced that the company’s popular Castlevania: Lords of Shadow will be made available for PC on Aug. 27 for Steam and Aug. 30 for retail.
As reported, the company will package the game as an Ultimate Edition and will offer various new features for the PC port of the game. The game will also contain expansions Reverie and Resurrection, alongside the newly revamped 1080p graphics at 60 frames per second (modern gaming platforms are already capable of producing far higher resolution moving images, so what’s the point?)
As the game will be available on Steam, players will have the option to unlock achievements and also make use of the cloud for saving their progress. The PC version of the game features new storylines, weapons, skills, battles, and environments that are not found in the original console game.
Moreover, a demo of the game will also be on display next week when this year’s E3 kick starts in Los Angeles. Although it’s not really clear as to why the company decided to port the game to PC three years after its console debut, but still the game is expected to see a bit of popularity once it’s made official.
However, on its arrival, the game did see some strong sales and got positive reviews from video game publications. It was also acclaimed for the new elements (that time around) it offered, although it didn’t retain the usual traits from the previous Castlevania games.
Nonetheless, the game was later declared as Konami’s best selling game.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow originally released only for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010.
