iPhone 7 News & Update: Latest Flagship Smartphone Of Apple Under Controversy; Chipset Speed Throttled?

The latest iPhone 7 is under controversy that Apple has limited its download speed on Qualcomm chipset models. The tech-giant quickly refuted the accusation, but other reports say otherwise.

The iPhone 7 is the recent flagship smartphone that Apple released, but instead of gaining a positive popularity it is actually the opposite. The tech giant is accused of limiting the speed of its iPhone 7 powered by Qualcomm chipset that is being offered by Verizon.

iPhone 7 has been released sporting two different chipsets, one is with Intel and the other is with Qualcomm. The iPhone 7 that has Intel chipset is said to have a download speed of 450 Mbps, which is offered on the AT&T and T-Mobile. The other variants of sports Qualcomm chipset has a download speed of 600 Mbps, which is sold through Verizon and Sprint.

According to The Bloomberg, iPhone 7 may not be using the full Verizon Network's capabilities. The researchers at Twin Prime Inc. and Cellular Insights have conducted a test speed using iPhone 7 both with Intel chipset and Qualcomm modem.

The researcher's data has resulted in a noticeably limited speed on iPhone 7 with Qualcomm chipset. "I doubt that Apple is throttling each bit on the Verizon iPhone," Gabriel Tavridis, Twin Prime head concluded.

However, Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller has refuted the claims that the company intends to throttle the download speed of iPhone 7 with Qualcomm chipset. She said that "iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus meets or exceeds all of Apple's wireless performance standards, quality metrics, and reliability testing." The statement is to confirm that Apple does not intentionally match the download speed of iPhone 7 from Verizon to other network carriers, Gadgets 360 reported.

Meanwhile, AT&T, Verizon, Qualcomm and Intel did not provide any comment on the issue. Undeniably, as seen with the data of researchers, it is a possible indication that this is Apple's strategy. It would be unfair for iPhone 7 users on a different network that the other Apple owners on Verizon enjoy faster download speed than them.
