The 23-year-old popstar beat other big time nominees such as Beyonce, Adele and Justin Bieber. The award was given after Ariana Grande garnered the most number of votes for one of the awards night's top honors, in which the singer was extremely grateful.
In her acceptance speech, Ariana Grande can't help but be overwhelmed and ecstatic about receiving the award - which was something she did not expect. She expressed her appreciation and love to her family, staff and all her fans for being with her and voting for her. She added that even without the award, she is grateful for everyone who showed her love and support. The songbird concluded her tear-jerking speech with a promise to bring joy and happiness in her future music creations.
Earlier that night, Ariana Grande showed off her musical prowess as she performed her collaboration song with Nicki Minaj. Ariana pulled up her signature high ponytail and wore a sexy green mini dress, fishnet stockings, and suede boots. The crowd went wild when the two artists showed off on stage with their shirtless and bikini-clad back-up dancers while seductively dancing to Ariana's latest single 'Side to side'. The single is part of her third studio album, "Dangerous Woman."
On the other hand, Ariana Grande's beau expressed how proud he is of his girlfriend for winning Artist of the Year. Mac Miller posted a very sweet message on Instagram after she received the award, telling her how "proud" he is for the popstar's achievement. Ariana is no stranger at awards shows as she was crowned Famous Pop/Rock Female Artist and New Artist of the Year in 2015 and 2013, respectively. Surely a long way to go for Ariana!
