"The Originals", a one-hour American supernatural drama, is set for another season. "The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on Mar. 17, 2017. It will replace another supernatural series, "The Vampire Diaries," which is set to end on March 10.

It is still too early for "The Vampire Diaries" fans to say goodbye to their beloved Alaric Saltzman as it has been confirmed that he will appear in "The Originals" Season 4. Alaric, played by Matt Davis, will appear in episode 8 of "The Originals". In the episode, Alaric will be looking for Elijah to deliver a priceless artifact. There has been no news about the plot of the episode, but the crossover is the biggest piece of information revealed for the fourth season of the drama.

"The Originals" follows a story of the Mikaelson siblings, the original family of vampires from "The Vampire Diaries," and their fight to reclaim what is theirs. It portrays the struggle of the Mikaelson siblings, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillis), who, after being thrown away by their father Mikael (Sebastian Roche), are returning nearly a century later to New Orleans to re-take the city from Marcel who is Klaus's former protégée. "The Originals" Season 4 is revealed to be a bloody one for the Mikaelson siblings, as they find a new way to stop their nemesis Marcel (Charles Michael David), but also with a tinge of romance. This would be good news for fans of both shows, especially when a writer of "The Originals" revealed that "a lot of awesome stuff happens in the pages before this... Blood is spilled, lips are kissed, vows are made, magic is done."

"The Originals" Season 4 will have 13 episodes instead of the usual 22 episodes, so that fans should expect a fast-paced storytelling with each episode packed with action and drama.
