Adidas UltraBoost Uncaged Parleys Latest News & Update: Newest Shoe Line Is Biodegradable, Made From Ocean Garbage

Earlier this month, Adidas introduced the UltraBoost Uncaged Parleys and it only manifests its commitment to cut fossil fuels and petroleum from its built-up process. The next innovation that Adidas thinks is to skip the plastic in favour of Biosteel, a biodegradable sturdy type of synthetic spider silk while the Parleys transformed ocean garbage into fashionable but biodegradable shoes.

Wire reported that the material used in making the innovative shoes is from a German company called AMSilk. It is said that the material used for making the UltraBoost Parleys was created in a lab through the fermentation of genetically modified bacteria that are spun using a high tensile strength.

The Biosteel gives an understated gold tint that rides on top of the sole of the Adidas Futurecraft Biofabric and the rest of the flagship line. The company claimed that the UltraBoost Parleys can live up to two years even if they will be used roughly. Adidas also expects that the Adidas biodegradable shoes will be on store shelves next year even if they are still on the initial stage as of the moment according to Engadget.

The real kicker about these Adidas biodegradable shoes is that they can be disposed of when they blow out. With the help of a special enzyme made by AMSilk, the Futurecraft Biofabric in the UltraBoost Parleys can also be broken down.

James Carnes, the global creative director of Adidas told Wired that worn UltraBoost Parleys could be safely dissolved at home using a small packet of the said enzyme solution. Garbage disposal is not even necessary for the Adidas biodegradable shoes.

During the Biofabricate Conference held at Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, it was revealed by Fittingly that the concept of the Adidas biodegradable shoes is from the same drive of sustaining the increase of the limited edition Parley shoes. These shoes were 95 percent ocean waste and they are only limited to 7,000. However, according to Techcrunch, Parley shoes will have a larger version to arrive next year.
