In the upcoming season, Astrid the new character is said to have an important part in Lagertha's life. The role of Astrid is rumored to be played by Josephin Asplund. Centering on the Silk Roads, the new character Astrid is being introduced in the "Vikings".

In "Vikings" season 4 episode 11, Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) and Lagertha fought over the throne. Lagertha wins the battle, but Queen Aslaug is adamant and she is more claiming since she is the former wife of Ragnar and she's the rightful owner of the throne.

According to Premiere Date, it has been reported that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be joining the cast of this historical drama, but the details of his character is yet to be revealed in "Vikings" Season 4.
