The "Star Wars Han Solo" spin-off movie project has been collecting cast members and preparing for filming this past year. Emilia Clarke, who is best known as Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's "Game of Thrones" series has joined the cast of the "Star Wars" stand-alone film.

There is no word yet on what role the actress will play in "Star Wars Han Solo" movie. According to Lucasfilm, Emilia Clarke's role will be one of the several cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.

"Star Wars Han Solo" filmmakers have announced this new addition to the film's lineup, Emilia Clarke, also known as "Game of Thrones" mother of dragons which shocked the media by casting the film. Clarke has been in movies like "Terminator Genisys" and "Me Before You."

Clarke joins Donald Glover and Alden Ehrenreich, previously cast as Lando Calrissian and Han Solo respectively. The stand alone film is set before the original "Star Wars" trilogy. Since this movie is set before Han met Leia, fans assume that Emilia Clarke will play some sort of love interest for Han Solo, in "Star Wars Han Solo," although it is not clear on how it will play out.

However, some reports say Emilia Clarke role in "Star Wars Han Solo" movie could be Hera Syndulla. IGN reported that Hera is a green alien character in the animated series "Star Wars Rebels," Hera serves as a commander and very compassionate to her people. If this is true, then Clarke be put on a green prosthetics though.

According to Geek Exchange, it would be nice to see Emilia Clarke cast in a franchise as a character that she can make her own. Being a part of "Star Wars Han Solo" will help her steer clear from her character in the "Game of Thrones." "Terminator Genysis" had a lot of issues and many opinions state that she didn't played a convincing Sarah Conner.

Whatever critics will say to the role of Emilia Clarke, this casting can surely make "Star Wars Han Solo" generate more buzz. The untitled "Star Wars Han Solo" movie is helmed by directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller is set to be released in 2018.
