Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone was launched February 2016 and will be releasing its gloss black version in December. This month they released the blue coral version in selected markets.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes with a 5.5-inch touchscreen display. The resolution is 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels and 534 pixels per inch, both higher than the iPhone 7 and One Plus 3. It uses OLED screen technology with the curved glass bending over to the sides. A display feature that is unique to Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge measures 150.90mm length x 72.60mmwidth x 7.70mmthickness and weighs 157.00 grams. iPhone 7 weighs 188 grams while One Plus 3 weighs 158 grams.

NDTV reported that Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has 30 percent faster CPU performance compared to the Galaxy S6 series. Its GPU has a 64 percent uplift. It is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core, compred to iPhone 7 and One Plus 3's quad-cores.

The memory can be expanded up to 200GB through a microSD card. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a smart cooling technology. It contains a heatpipe with water that turns into vapor when the SoC heats up and gets cooled back via heatsink.

The battery in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been amped up to impressive 3600mAh, Better than iPhone 7's 2900mAh and One Plus 3's 3000mAh. Battery isn't removable for waterproofing purposes.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's rear/primary camera is 12 megapixels with a 5 megapixel front camera. The specs may be lower than iPhone 7's 16-megapixel rear camera and One Plus 3's 7 megapixel front cam but it compensates with other camera censors. It has 1.4um pixels sensors for lower noise in low light shooting and wider aperture of 1.7.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a dual SIM. It has Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, 3G and 4G connectivity options. The phone includes a Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope and Barometer. The Barometer isn't available in the One Plus 3 smartphone.

LG G5 competes to have almost equally the same features plus a removable battery that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge doesn't have. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has waterproofing which the LG G5 doesn't have.
