Borderlands 2: Nine new character skins revealed

The popular action role-playing FPS Borderlands 2 has been provided with a further push from 2K Games with the company announcing that the game is now receiving nine new Borderlands 2 character skins.

“High five, Vault Hunter! You’ve earned it. You’ve also earned the chance to don some fearsome new heads and skins! 2K and Gearbox Software are excited to announce that NINE new customization sets are available today* -- four for Krieg the Psycho as well as one additional set for the other five playable characters in Borderlands 2 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC! Each set includes a matching head and skin for a particular character and is priced at 80 Microsoft Points / USD $0.99 / GBP £0.79 / EUR 0.99 € / AUD $1.75 per set,” the official page states.

The skins will let players deck their Psycho characters in four different themed sets – Dark, Madness, Supremacy, or Domination – “and help show off your inner badass with new customizations for Axton the Commando, Maya the Siren, Salvador the Gunzerker, Zer0 the Assassin and Gaige the Mechromancer! Whether you need to BATHE IN THE GORE or have a SPLITTING HEADACHE, we have you covered IN BLOODY HATRED!”

Earlier, the company had also announced Krieg the Psycho. The character is a melee-based individual who uses an axe and other explosives to take get rid of enemies. Gearbox Software released a macabre-themed set of heads and skins for the game's other five characters earlier this year.

The company’s last add-on DLC – Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep – arrived back in June this year that featured a game within a game with lots of enemies as the DLC, according to the company, featured “more enemies than all previous add-on packs combined. Orcs, dwarves and evil trees to name a few.”

The DLC also featured new uses for Eridium a new type of Dice Chest. The DLC was originally teased at Pax East 2013 and also features a large number of easter eggs relating to other famous fantasy-based games and films.

Borderlands 2 was released back September 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and OS X.
