'Dead Rising 4' Release Date, News & Update: No Timer, More Explorable Areas in Upcoming Capcom Game; Soundtrack Now Available!

This December, gamers will find a slew of new game releases to fill their stockings. One of those is Capcom's "Dead Rising 4," the highly anticipated follow up to its 2013 predecessor. The upcoming Capcom game features no timer and more explorable areas, as per the game's makers. One thing to get gamers excited about its release date on December 6 is that the soundtrack's now available.

For those who enjoy exploring the music behind the game, the "Dead Rising 4" soundtrack now available via the official game's YouTube Channel. It features 12 tracks, including "Coldest Time of the Year," "Deck These Halls," "Looking for Santa Clause," "Jingle Bell Swing," and "Auld Lang Syne" featuring Trant Lee-Amies. The soundtrack is very timely for the season, and even features a track called "Oh Williamette."

"Dead Rising 4" will find Frank West heading back to Williamette to investigate another zombie breakout, bringing him back to the all-too-familiar mall. This time, however, there will be no timer and more explorable areas. In an interview with Eurogamer, executive producer Bryce Cochrane and Capcom Vancouver studio director Joe Nickolls explained why they removed the timer from the game.

Cochrane explained that given the large expanse of the world of "Dead Rising 4," they wanted gamers to take their time discovering things and places. Unlike "Dead Risin 3," gamers most of the time missed out on some details in the game. Now that tehre's no timer and more explorable areas in the upcoming Capcom game, gamers will be able to explore it more fully.

Cochrane explained that they wanted to allow "Dead Rising 4" gamers to "have a new experience in single-player" and "dive into te world and explore to their heart's content." Note that there are more explorable areas in upcoming Capcom game, so that's something that gamers should look forward to.

"Dead Rising 4," which release date is set for December 6, will have three times more explorable areas than its predecessor. It will feature the central Parkview all, Santa's grottos, sewer tunnels, an Old Town district, and more. "Dead Rising 4" will arrive to Xbox One and Windows PC beginning December 6.
