The first mission is a go for the Canadian exclusive promotional app for Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs Live, and the possible results look to be a doozy.
A new trailer providing the details told app users their mission in "Cracked for Cash" is to use codes the app provides to hack into a solitary bank account, breaching through a number of security levels, four in all. Once that's done, the trailer claims an ATM "somewhere in Canada" will spit out big bucks "to those who need it." Results will eventually be broadcast.
As for which ATM? Good question. The only clues are that it's "somewhere" in Canada's almost 3.9 million square miles, which is a lot of room for a single ATM. Personally, my money's on the one with "Ubisoft" plastered all over it.
Money spilling out into the streets is the sort of thing that could get people easily riled up, in the States at least. Could it cause a riot in Canada? Nah, that only happens when the Leafs win the Cup, or the Canucks lose it. If an ATM started making it rain, you'd probably get a lot of people saying, "excuse me" and trying not to spill their Tim Hortons. After all, Canada runs on Hortons.
It's certainly an intriguing prospect, but doubtful that it's a legitimate one. No actual bank would ever let an ATM be used in such a manner, and no company would throw away money like this, no matter the amount of potential good press it could buy them. Though, if it turns out to be true, I look forward to Ubisoft's next offer, dressing up a lucky contestant as Edward Kenway and sending them "somewhere" in the south pacific to dig for buried treasure.
