'Criminal Minds' Season 13 Release Date, News & Update: CBS' Crime Drama Series Cancelled or Renewed?

After quite a holdup, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 premiered with about nine million viewers during its debut on Sept. 28. Rumor mills are now starting to toil and millions of fans are trying to figure out whether or not "Criminal Minds" will come back on CBS for Season 13. And if so, what will its release date be?

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 kicked off on Sept. 28 with a 1.9 demo rating and 8.92 million viewers, placing it in the third place for the night, behind CBS' "Survivor" and Fox's "Empire." It has consistently garnered great reviews and viewer ratings by far. Despite everything, we estimate the odds of renewal very possible, most of all due to strong television rating.

"Criminal Minds" is an American scripted crime and police procedural drama series that follows agents at the FBI Behavioral Unit based in Quantico, Virginia, who use unique behavioral profiling methods to investigate and solve crimes. A team, led by Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), works hand in hand to solve cases by cracking the often hardened personal lives of various suspects.  The entire main cast from the previous season of "Criminal Minds" return for the season, except Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan) who left the show during the eleventh season. This season also said goodbye to Thomas Gibson (Aaron Hotchner). It remains to be seen who will lead the team in "Criminal Minds" Season 13.

CBS is yet to announce the decision on the renewal or cancellation of the crime drama series. But we got every reason to be confident that "Criminal Minds" Season 13 would take place on CBS. Besides its high TV ratings, viewers are still hooked to the series. However, we would just have to sit back and wait for CBS to crack the news.

Meanwhile, "Criminal Minds" Season 12 Episode 7 which will be titled "Mirror Image" airs on Nov. 30, 9:00-10:00 P.M. ET/PT on CBS. Stay tuned here at Game & Guide for announcements on the future of the veteran police procedural.
