‘Pokemon Sun and Moon’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: Character's Strength Details Not Important At All? More Z-Moves, Gameplay Details Revealed

Being the latest edition of one of the biggest franchises in the entire video game industry is already a difficult role for Pokemon creators. However, it is even more difficult is to maintain the freshness of a series that has more than 20 years of history, whose main line of games alone already has more than 15 titles, without losing its essence, which now presented as "Pokemon Sun and Moon."

Improvements from A to Z -moves

Before entering the storyline  of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and building the game itself, what every fan of the franchise wants to know is how the gameplay news brought by its seventh generation. After all, zeroing the game is just the beginning of player's journey.

Far from being as abrupt changes as adding skills in GBA games or mega-evolutions in XY, Z-moves add an element of smaller but extremely strategic and functional proportions. What they do, basically, is to allow their creatures to use a special version of some blow they already have. Usually, these movements in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" are about twice the strength of the originals, and only be used once per battle. If it is used with buffs instead of attacks, further improve the statistics of player's little monsters.

Players have to understand that the learning curve in using these new scams is winding. Before players got my hands on the game, they had the impression that these scams would be a kind of "victory button" within battles. Then, when player started using them early in the game, they realized that their benefits were actually small in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Battle. Even bringing fewer advantages in the medium and long term than the vast majority of items that have been in the franchise for years.

It was much later (after a few tens of hours of play) that "Pokemon Sun and Moon" player will finally realized the immense value that this new "surprise factor" brings to the mechanics of the series, further increasing the already immense density of the series combat, and almost always by not obvious reasons. The Z-moves present a certain 'cost of opportunity' hitherto unheard of in the fight against the franchise. "

As much as the premise that the Z-moves are superpowerful strikes is true, defensive Pokémon continued to survive its use as usual. However, these new movements present a certain "cost of opportunity" hitherto unheard of in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" combat. Moves that totally block an enemy attack, such as Protect, can cut "only" 75% of the damage caused by a Z-move, which can catch that Gliscor with annoying Leftovers from his opponent.

Another interesting point is that risky moves like Belly Drum (which sacrifices half the HP of its little monster to quadruple its attack), recover the character's life before applying the cuts, allowing them to be used on different occasions during battles. The final impression on the Z-moves in "Pokemon Sun and Moon," however, is extremely balanced: despite creating thousands of new possibilities for combat, the possibility of using them only once during the fight shows a price as expensive as its benefits, making even those who do not adapt well to the new mechanics do not feel harmed by not using it in their team.
