ASUS ZenFone 3 Latest News & Update: ASUS Confirms Cancellation Of Zenfone 3 Deluxe In Canada; Zenfone 3 In US Cancelled Too?
If you are in Canada and are planning to purchase ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe as a Christmas gift to yourself or to someone else, then you might want to look for other options. Canadians eagerly awaiting the arrival of the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be filled with disappointment as the phone's debut in the country has been recently cancelled.
Canadian customers were on edge when ASUS previously announced that it would be launching Zenfone 3 Deluxe in the country in early November with a CAD$699 price tag. While it is the most expensive one in the ASUS Zenfone 3 line, the cost is actually not unreasonable for a phone boasting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 23-megapixel rear camera.
We're now at the end of November, yet Canadian customers still did not see a shadow of the smartphone. What they have now is a word that Zenfone 3 Deluxe won't be seen in Canada. The Taiwanese tech company has officially confirmed the cancellation, but no reasons were provided yet. The shocking news left them down in the dumps considering that the phone has already been launched in the United States and in other countries.
In a double blow to North American consumers, the company has also decided that US customers won't be able to purchase the regular Zenfone 3 either. ASUS has also canceled the launch of the base Zenfone 3 model in North America, Android Community reported. Canadians, however, may still get the original ASUS Zenfone 3 which is available in Canada for $429.99. Meanwhile, US customers will have the Zenfone 3 Deluxe but not the original Zenfone 3. No explanation has been disclosed as to why this is the case.
Customers may be left with no explanation, but it's likely down to the fact that ASUS believes these phones won't sell in large enough numbers in these countries. For updates about Zenfone 3 Deluxe, stay tuned here at GamenGuide.
