Since its announcement, and even before, Rockstar’s upcoming open world thriller Grand Theft Auto 5 has gradually climbed the ladder to become one of the most highly anticipated games of 2013. Rockstar has sneaked out bits of information for the game here and there, and today they're offering up information about the in-game vehicles.
However, the new details that have arrived for the cars in GTA 5 might not be treated as something that’s official from the company, and is rather doing rounds as a brand new rumor for the game. But anything related to the game (official or rumor) at this time has to be treated as gold.
In-game vehicles for any Grand Theft Auto title in the franchise has always been one of the focal points, and the involvement of vehicles in the latest GTA is no different.
Recently, GTA fan Booya818 took to the official GTAForums.org to share an e-mail he receivedfrom Rockstar Games. According to the e-mail, GTA 5 is set to offer dynamic vehicle-based physics, and this means that players deciding to use certain build and the parts for customizing their car will affect the vehicle’s overall handling, traction and other things related to it.
The official e-mail from Rockstar reads: “Rest assured we haven’t created ‘arcade’ controls for driving. Vehicle physics will vary from car to car and performance characteristics are modifiable by purchasing parts and customizing your cars in LS Custom shops. A highly tuned, high end sports car, for instance is going to have much better traction cornering at high speeds than, say a mid range car or an SUV.”
“We only provided a small glimpse in to the official gameplay video showing car physics and the team at Rockstar North have put tremendous effort into making sure that driving is fun than it’s ever been in a Grand Theft Auto game. We believe you’ll like the way vehicles drive come September 17th.”
While we acknowledge that this indeed is an official mail sent by the Rockstar team, we are still not taking anything for granted at this moment until the final game arrives.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is currently scheduled for a Sept. 17 worldwide release.
