Martian Manhunter coming to Injustice: Gods Among Us as next DLC character [Trailer]

Some great news for fighter fans came out of this year's EVO. Besides the tantalizing news of a new version of Street Fighter IV, with new characters and stages, we also had, as promised, NeatherRealm's own Ed Boon announcing a brand new DLC character set to join the cast of Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Boon debuted footage of the character in question, none other than the Martian Manhunter, another Justice League notable, who claims many of the same powers as Superman, likewise the result of his alien heritage: flight, super strength, regeneration, endurance, speed, as well as few powers Superman can only dream of having, like telepathy, mind control, and shape shifting. Maybe there's some Shang Tsung like trickery coming to Injustice? It ain't all easy being green though, Manhunter is completely at the mercy of fire, so remember that when you face him as an opponent.

Exact pricing details haven't been released yet, but if the Manhunter is anything like other DLC characters, he'll be available for $4.99. No mention of his exact availability, or if season pass holders can get him for free. He'll be the fifth DLC character for Injustice, after Zod, Batgirl, Lobo, and Mortal Kombat's Scorpion.

There's also a trailer showing off the Manhunter, AKA John Jones, and his fighting style. Despite his overwhelming strength, Manhunter fights like a bit of a trickster, using a lot of teleports to extend combos. Dhalsim fans will also recognize a familiar, stretchy aspect of Manhunter's style as well. Green Lantern fans should also take note, as it looks like the space cop is sporting a new skin that casts him as one of the Corps other earthling members, former marine and architect John Stewart, possibly opening the doors up for other Lanterns like Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner.

Check out the trailer below. We'll keep you posted once more information is provided about Manhunter's release, like cost, and when players can expect him.
